Position: Full-time

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience

Illuminas is a primary market research consultancy. As a Director of Marketing Science at Illuminas you will be involved in identifying the ideal methodologies for our studies, consulting with internal and external clients on advanced analytic techniques and collaborating within a team of analysts to execute the research analytics. You will have the opportunity to influence research methodology and interpret results that impact major business decisions for some of the world’s largest technology companies, as well as educate our internal and external stakeholders on research techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, research methods and statistics.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Consult on research methodologies, sampling designs and contribute to new business sales efforts
  • Consult on survey design and lead client meetings as a chief methodologist and content expert
  • Convey analytic techniques and results independently to internal and external clients
  • Use a wide variety of standard and advanced analytics techniques on primary research data
  • Resource plan to ensure projects meet deadlines, objectives and work is delivered error free
  • Implement analysis initiatives and develop processes (e.g., macro development, new approaches, software implementations)
  • Develop strong and lasting internal relationships and client partnerships
  • Motivate and inspire – actively coach and develop the technical and consultative skills of the broader research and analytic teams

Requirements

Ideal Candidate Has the Following Skills / Experience

  • BS/MS degree in statistics, data science, econometrics, marketing science or similar quantitative background or equivalent training / work experience
  • 8+ years of analytic experience in market research including experience consulting and executing statistical analysis
  • Good communication skills and ability to present data findings in an easy to understand manner to internal and external clients less familiar with statistical techniques
  • Proficiency with statistical software SPSS, SAS, Sawtooth or similar and with standard office programs Word, PowerPoint and Excel
    • Python, R, VBA coding experience a bonus
  • Practical experience running analysis with real data. Ability to handle data coding and setup of estimation from experimental designs
  • Hands on development of predictive models using linear or logistic regression, discriminant analysis, segmentation/cluster analysis, decision trees, factor analysis, multivariate methods, and database/data mining
  • Knowledge of discrete choice models is helpful (e.g., DCM using Sawtooth software choice-based conjoint)
  • Inquisitive personality with a strong desire to understand and share knowledge
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and logical decision-making process
