Market Research Assistant

Job description


Illuminas is seeking a highly energetic and intelligent individual who is ready to learn everything there is to learn about market research. As a Research Assistant, you will learn how to support the design and execution of large-scale, custom research studies for some of the largest and most successful technology and media brands in the world.

Specific job responsibilities of a Research Assistant can include (but are not limited to):

  • Learning how to support custom market research studies, both qualitative and quantitative
    • Testing online surveys to ensure logic is programmed as intended
    • Managing internal and external project vendors
    • Conducting secondary research
    • Proofreading questionnaires or reports (or any type of documentation)
    • Drafting status updates to clients on a weekly basis
    • Drafting field documents for external panel providers on an as needed basis
    • Monitoring survey progress while in field
    • Managing external field vendors (both qualitative and quantitative)
    • Reviewing open-ended responses to ensure quality assurance
    • Testing online surveys to ensure the logic is programmed as intended
    • Drafting tab plans for the data processing team to ensure the crosstabs are set up correctly
    • Drafting, developing and building graphical reports in PowerPoint





Qualified candidates should possess the following attributes:

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited 4-year university
  • Experience with quantitative or qualitative research
  • 2+ years of experience working in a professional environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A desire to learn and a thirst for knowledge
  • A fun and outgoing personality
  • Previous experience supporting quantitative or qualitative market research projects is a BIG plus
