Illuminas is seeking a highly motivated, inquisitive, and creative market researcher with 7-10 years of experience executing custom quantitative and qualitative market research projects. In this role you’ll collaborate with both senior and junior staff members to design and oversee large-scale projects for clients in the technology industry and other industries that intersect with technology. The ideal candidate will have experience directing all phases of research projects, and will thrive on orchestrating the successful execution of research projects for Fortune 1000 companies.

The ideal candidate is someone who likes to be challenged and is good at solving complex problems. Also has a solid understanding of market research methodologies and highly is knowledgeable about each phase of a project. This includes reviewing detailed project timelines, finalizing questionnaires and discussion guides, troubleshooting programming and data collection issues, conducting in-depth interviews, providing guidance on tab and analysis plans, advanced analysis outputs and report templates, reviewing quantitative and qualitative reports, and driving the content for interpretive summaries.

The Research Director is responsible for owning and managing account relationships, which includes identifying and coordinating new business opportunities, presenting project results and providing recommendations to clients in a consultative and collaborative manner.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of custom research studies, both qualitative and quantitative, as outlined above
  • Serve as the senior consultant on client accounts
  • Cultivate deep client relationships
  • Responsible for ensuring that all client deliverables are of the utmost quality, and that they have the clients’ objectives and best interests in mind
  • Provide guidance and direction to the client services team on content development
  • Help the client services team troubleshoot problems that arise at any point in time throughout the lifecycle of a project
  • Develop executive-level analysis by crafting a compelling and meaningful summary of the research results with the use of visual and infographics, as needed
  • Grow and mentor Research Associates and Managers


Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
  • 7-10 years of experience in supplier-side custom market research, with the ability to effectively oversee the entire research life cycle from design through to analysis
  • Experience with technology and business (B2B) research
  • Experience with domestic and international research
  • Must be highly proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
